Introducing Front Desk: Our New Point-of-Sale Cash Reconciliation Product

As part of our mission to streamline and automate all things healthcare cash management and reconciliation, we have just released a new CAMS-integrated product called Front Desk. Front Desk’s capabilities enhance our existing auto-reconciliation process with particular focus on the challenge of point-of-sale transactions typically taken at outpatient clinics.
Although CAMS currently reconciles these types of payments and transactions from the hospital setting perspective, the underlying data for Front Desk payments (cash, check, credit card, IVR, MyChart, etc.) should be reconciled at a more granular level. Typically employed at clinic sites, Front Desk is scalable, making it an ideal solution across large hospital systems containing dozens or even hundreds of clinic locations. With Front Desk’s focus on clinic point-of-sale transactions, it could also be used as a standalone solution for independent medical groups. Key features and benefits of using Front Desk are described below:
Reconciliation: In addition to the CAMS auto-reconciliation engine running daily to match payments to transactions, Front Desk offers enhanced capabilities for manually reconciling tickets (bank deposits) to payments (credit cards or check deposits), as well as payments to transactions (i.e. Epic PB or other patient accounting system).
Reporting: Front Desk offers further capability in reporting and tracking staff productivity at the clinic level for items that do not get auto-matched and auto-reconciled.
Fraud Prevention: When dealing with cash we are able to track the opening and closing totals in the cash drawer. This will ensure that bank deposits match totals of cash payments collected at time of service.
Clinic Correspondence: Front Desk integrates our CAMS Requests feature which allows centralized finance/accounting offices to communicate with individual clinic users in the event more information is needed to reconcile an item. Internal correspondence is maintained within CAMS and automated email alerts can be generated to specific end users or management, as needed.
